A Senior Manager at McAdam, Michael describes himself as a “people person” and, therefore, has spent most of his career working directly with individuals. His desire to go into the financial advisory field was driven by his upbringing and influenced by watching his own family navigate retirement planning, particularly those in the medical and education fields. He wanted to help others who led lives of public service to their communities.
Before joining McAdam Financial, Michael was with VALIC Financial Advisors, where he worked primarily with K-12 and higher education teachers and faculty to help them understand the importance of building wealth for retirement. Today he specializes in working with individuals 10 years away from retirement and those 10 years into retirement. However, his deep knowledge of how pensions work and how to recreate income for those without one lends itself to creating safe and protected income plans for families.
Michael holds the Series 7, Series 66 and insurance licenses to provide comprehensive planning.
Local to the area, Michael attended the University of Maryland Global Campus, where he studied sociology. He and his wife, Elaine, reside in Forest Glen, Maryland. The couple has three children — Caileigh, Mason and Lucas — and the family regularly takes trips to Scotland, where Elaine is from. They are also avid fans of the Smithsonian Institution and all the culture across the DMV. Although kids’ activities take up most of Michael’s free time, he enjoys attending local sporting events and concerts with friends. He also likes hiking in the local state and national parks whenever possible.
